After the successful debut of the BYD Seal earlier this year, with over 2,200 units registered by the end of August 2024, Sime Darby Motors, the official distributor of BYD in Malaysia, has introduced the new BYD Seal Dynamic RWD variant. This addition completes the lineup alongside the existing Premium and Performance models, offering more options for Malaysian consumers seeking electric sedans with a blend of style, technology, and performance.

BYD Seal Dynamic RWD: Features and Pricing

The BYD Seal Dynamic RWD is available in two sleek colour options: Cosmos Black and Aurora White. While pricing starts from a competitive RM163,800, the first 100 bookings come with a complimentary Wall Box Home Charger, adding extra value for early customers.

The new Dynamic RWD variant is backed by an extensive warranty package, including a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, and an 8-year or 150,000 km drive unit warranty, offering customers peace of mind.

For those seeking an affordable yet advanced electric sedan, the BYD Seal Dynamic RWD provides cutting-edge technology with a stylish design. The Seal lineup also includes the RWD Premium variant, starting at RM179,800, offering a balance between performance and range, and the AWD Performance variant, tailored for driving enthusiasts, starting at RM199,800.

Design and Technology Highlights

The BYD Seal Dynamic RWD showcases an aerodynamic coupe-like silhouette that’s both eye-catching and efficient. Its Ocean Aesthetics design has won accolades, including the iF Design Award, and it was named a Top 3 finalist in the 2024 World Car of the Year Awards. Additionally, it has been recognised locally, winning Electric Performance Sedan of the Year at the VOTY 2024 awards.

While the entire Seal range shares a similar design language, the Dynamic RWD variant stands out with a new rim design. The Dynamic variant supports DC fast charging up to 110 kW and features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, increasing its versatility. With 450 litres of cargo space, including a 50-litre front trunk, the Seal Dynamic combines practicality with advanced electric mobility.

Customer Service and Expansion

BYD is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, with 25 showrooms and service centers already operational across Malaysia and plans to expand to over 30 by the end of 2024. The BYD App also provides convenient digital solutions, allowing customers to access service center locations and even unlock their vehicles remotely.

In addition to launching the BYD Seal Dynamic RWD, BYD has upgraded the BYD Atto 3 with a 60.48 kWh battery, extending its range to 480 km and improving its acceleration to 7.3 seconds from 0-100 km/h. BYD secara rasminya memperkenalkan MPV terbaru mereka, BYD Xia, yang akan dilancarkan di pasaran China pada penghujung tahun ini dengan harga permulaan sekitar 300,000 yuan (RM183,362). Xia, dinamakan bersempena dengan Dinasti Xia purba China, adalah sebahagian daripada siri Dynasty BYD dan merupakan model unggulan yang mencerminkan status mewah.

BYD Xia adalah MPV besar dengan dimensi yang mengagumkan: panjang 5145mm, lebar 1970mm, dan tinggi 1805mm, serta jarak roda 3045mm. BYD Xia MPV Revealed – 1.5-litre Turbo with a Hybrid System

BYD has officially launched its newest minivan, the BYD Xia, which will hit the Chinese market later this year with a starting price of 300,000 yuan (RM183,362). The Xia, part of BYD’s Dynasty series, is a flagship product named after China’s ancient Xia dynasty, symbolising its prestigious status within the lineup.

The BYD Xia is a large MPV, measuring 5145mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1805mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3045mm. Its size slightly surpasses that of the Toyota Alphard, which is also popular in markets such as here in Malaysia. The minivan’s design is unique yet aligns with BYD’s signature Dragon Face design language, featuring a trapeze-shaped grille, chrome accents, elongated headlights, and a BYD logo prominently placed on the front. The vehicle also features a flat roofline, rear sliding doors, and a roof spoiler.

BYD Meluaskan Kehadiran Eropah dengan Pengambilalihan Pengedar Jerman Hedin Electric Mobility

BYD sedang mengambil langkah besar dalam mengukuhkan kehadirannya di Eropah dengan merancang pengambilalihan pengedar Jermannya, Hedin Electric Mobility. Ini merupakan langkah strategik yang akan mempertingkatkan kawalan BYD ke atas jualan dan operasinya di Jerman, sambil mengukuhkan kedudukan mereka sebagai pengeluar kenderaan elektrik (EV) utama di benua tersebut. BYD Expands European Presence with Acquisition of German Distributor Hedin Electric Mobility

BYD is taking significant strides in expanding its presence in Europe by planning to acquire its German distributor, Hedin Electric Mobility. This strategic move will bolster BYD’s control over its vehicle sales and operations in Germany, enhancing its position as a leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer on the continent. The acquisition is expected to be finalised by the fourth quarter of this year, pending approval.

With this purchase, BYD will take full responsibility for the sales and distribution of its vehicles and spare parts in Germany, and also manage key stores in Stuttgart and Frankfurt. This move comes as the German EV market faces declining sales in 2024, but BYD remains determined to overcome the challenge by strengthening its local operations. In 2022, BYD successfully sold over 4,000 vehicles in Germany, underscoring its growing foothold in the country.

BYD akan Memperkenalkan Electric Hot Hatch: Seal 06 GT pada 30 Ogos

BYD bersedia membuat impak besar dalam pasaran kenderaan elektrik (EV) dengan pelancaran hot hatch elektrik pertamanya, Seal 06 GT, yang dijadualkan pada 30 Ogos 2024. Pelancaran ini menandakan langkah signifikan untuk BYD dalam segmen hatchback elektrik berprestasi tinggi.

Seal 06 GT pertama kali diperkenalkan sebagai konsep Ocean-M di Pameran Motor Beijing awal tahun ini. Ia diletakkan di antara sedan Seal dan Dolphin, sebahagian daripada keluarga kenderaan elektrik “Ocean” BYD. Model ini dijangka menarik perhatian peminat hot hatch dan akan bersaing dengan MG 4 XPower, hatchback elektrik berprestasi yang juga sedang meningkat popularitinya dalam industri.

Walaupun spesifikasi rasmi masih belum diumumkan, dokumen terdahulu daripada Kementerian Perindustrian dan Teknologi Maklumat China (MIIT) menyatakan bahawa Seal 06 GT akan hadir dengan dua pilihan powertrain: varian pacuan roda belakang satu motor dengan 214hp dan versi dwi-motor yang menghasilkan 415hp. BYD to Unveil First Electric Hot Hatch: Seal 06 GT on August 30th

BYD is set to make waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the upcoming reveal of its first electric hot hatch, the Seal 06 GT. The highly anticipated launch is scheduled for August 30, 2024, and marks the automaker’s entry into the performance electric hatchback segment.

The Seal 06 GT was first previewed as the Ocean-M concept at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year. Positioned between the Seal sedan and the Dolphin, both of which belong to BYD’s “Ocean” family of electric vehicles, the Seal 06 GT represents a bold step forward for the Chinese EV giant as it targets enthusiasts in the hot hatch market. The new model is expected to go head-to-head with the MG 4 XPower, another electric performance hatchback making waves in the industry.

While official specifications are yet to be confirmed, previous filings with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) indicate that the Seal 06 GT will be available in two powertrain options: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant with 214hp of power and a dual-motor flagship version producing 415hp. This positions the Seal 06 GT just shy of the MG 4 XPower’s 429hp output, although both models pale in comparison to BYD’s own Seal Performance sedan, which boasts an impressive 522hp.
