Lexus sekali lagi mencuri perhatian dengan pelancaran IS500 Climax Edition, sebuah sedan sports mewah yang bukan sahaja mengekalkan warisan prestasinya, malah mencetuskan senyuman dengan penamaan yang cukup berani. Lexus has officially introduced the 2025 IS 500 Ultimate Edition, a limited-run variant that pays homage to the performance legacy of the IS lineup and marks a symbolic farewell to the naturally aspirated V8 in a world increasingly shifting toward electrification and hybridisation. Only 500 units will be available across North America, with sales expected to commence later this year.

Since its global debut in 1999, the Lexus IS has evolved into a cornerstone of the brand’s performance sedan offerings. With around 1.3 million units sold in more than 40 countries and regions over the past two decades, the model has garnered a loyal following for its dynamic rear-wheel-drive layout and refined handling, positioning it as a serious rival to European competitors.

Under the bonnet, the IS 500 Ultimate Edition retains the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated 2UR-GSE V8 engine, delivering a robust 472hp and 535Nm of torque exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission. This powertrain has become a hallmark of the IS 500 F SPORT Performance grade, offering a uniquely visceral driving experience that is becoming increasingly rare in the segment.

Complementing the car’s powerful output is an advanced braking system, featuring 6-piston aluminium Brembo callipers and large 380mm ventilated disc brakes, designed for improved fade resistance and confident stopping power. These high-performance brakes are finished in red, adding a visual cue to their capability. Lexus telah memperkenalkan generasi terbaharu kenderaan elektrik bateri (BEV), RZ baharu, yang menandakan satu langkah penting dalam pengembangan jenama itu dalam pasaran kenderaan elektrik mewah. Model ini akan dilancarkan secara beransur-ansur di pelbagai pasaran global bermula September 2025.

Lexus has introduced the latest iteration of its battery electric vehicle (BEV), the new RZ, marking a significant step in the brand’s continued expansion into the luxury EV market. The model will be released gradually across various global markets beginning September 2025.

The unveiling reinforces Lexus’ leadership in vehicle electrification, a position it has held since the introduction of the RX 400h in 2005. By 2024, the brand had achieved a milestone with electrified vehicles, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric models, accounting for more than half of its lineup. Lexus remains committed to increasing the adoption of BEVs, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids while advancing vehicle technology to enhance driving performance, mobility solutions, and sustainability efforts.

The new RZ introduces a fully reengineered BEV system designed to provide higher motor output, an extended driving range, and significantly reduced charging time. The inclusion of Lexus’ next-generation Steer-by-Wire System brings a new dimension to handling, improving steering precision and responsiveness. Enhancements to the platform have refined the Lexus Driving Signature, ensuring a more intuitive and engaging experience behind the wheel. Toyota nampaknya serius dalam mengukuhkan kedudukan Lexus dalam pasaran EV China. Keputusan untuk membina kilang khusus Lexus di Shanghai menunjukkan strategi jangka panjang mereka untuk bersaing dengan jenama mewah lain seperti Mercedes-Benz, BMW, dan Tesla, yang semakin menguasai pasaran EV di sana.

Dengan kapasiti pengeluaran 100,000 unit setahun, Toyota nampaknya mengambil pendekatan berhati-hati tetapi tetap agresif untuk menembusi pasaran EV China.

Toyota has announced plans to establish an electric vehicle (EV) plant in Shanghai dedicated to its luxury Lexus brand, reinforcing its commitment to China’s growing EV market. This move comes as foreign automakers face increasing challenges in the world’s largest auto market.

The Japanese automotive giant, the world’s top-selling carmaker, revealed the decision while also raising its annual net profit forecast to nearly $30 billion and increasing its revenue projection.

Toyota stated that it will set up a wholly owned company in Shanghai for the development and production of Lexus battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and batteries. Production is expected to commence after 2027, with the facility creating 1,000 new jobs and boasting an annual output capacity of approximately 100,000 vehicles.

The F Sport Mode Black IV stands out with its new set of black forged alloy wheels, designed by BBS, and black mirror caps featuring a smoked finish for the chrome accents. These details differentiate the latest edition from its predecessor, the F Sport Black III, which also incorporated black exterior elements.
