Remember the time we used to keep a folder in the car full of CDs so that everyone in the car could take turns and play their favourite hits? Then it eventually evolved into the aux cable and then Bluetooth made life easier. Later on, Apple CarPlay made the music experience way easier and more accessible to one user. How do you top that?

Well, with all the big commotion going on about the new Vision Pro by Apple, this sleek update to Apple CarPlay was overshadowed. It’s an update to iOS 17 which allows passengers to join in on being the DJ in a shared media session. Now to those who do not know, this is a feature that has already been accessible in the Spotify app. So… Apple is kind of late to the game.

The Proton X50 arrived in the Malaysian market in October 2020, generating a great deal of excitement at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic had created a sense of gloom. It was an immediate hit and today, the X50 has ascended to the No.1 position, not just in the SUV B-segment but is now also the overall leader of the entire SUV segment.

Although many new rivals have entered the market since 2020, the X50 remains a very popular choice for SUV buyers, being offered at attractive price points in all four variants with comprehensive equipment packages. In fact, much of what is offered in the X50 – especially the more premium variants – would typically only be found in models costing much more. Hence, like the X70, the X50 has changed the value-for-money proposition and offers consumers a premium product without them having to pay a premium price.

The Malaysian police have detained two men for allegedly impersonating police and pursuing a car heading from Singapore to Genting Highlands.

Freeman Gan WT, who was driving his pals to Genting Highlands, posted a video on Facebook showing that the passenger of the car that was pursuing him was holding a blue beacon light. But police officers in reflective vests driving a fourth-gen Honda City with a portable blue beacon light? Freeman could sense that something was off.

In addition to that, the “policeman” at the back was wearing a clown facemask and flashing his torch light! “The car had always been at my back. The driver drove into the R&R station before he caught up with me again,” said Freeman.

Ever seen one of those small toy wooden cars that collectors have? Well, this is the same but different. Instead of being a toy, this is a fully functional life-size car registered in France. And it is very expensive.

This Citroen 2CV that is made of wood recently sold for €210,000 (RM1.03 million) at an auction in France, setting a new price record for the iconic vehicle. And yes, it was purchased by a collector named Jean-Paul Favand who is based in Paris.

The Citroen 2CV, also known as “deux chevaux” or “two horsepower,” was introduced in 1948 as the automaker’s response to the Volkswagen Beetle.

The previous record for a 2CV was established in 2016 when the Paris-based auction house Artcurial sold an exceptionally rare 1961 2CV Sahara in nearly pristine condition for €172,800 (RM851,489).

All good things must come to an end and the 2024 model year will mark the end of Chevrolet’s Camaro production.

With a special Collector’s Edition that features a distinctive exterior paint colour honouring the car’s original Panther code name, the carmaker will mark the end of the sixth-generation model. It will be offered on the LT/RS, LT1, SS, and ZL1 trims.

In September 1966, the first-generation Camaro made its appearance. It was built as a two-door 2+2 in coupé and convertible variants for the 1967 through 1969 model years on a new rear-wheel drive GM F-body chassis.

Mitsubishi has teased a new compact crossover which will make its debut at the Indonesia International Auto Show in August before going on sale in ASEAN countries. The carmaker is yet to release the name, but we have a few teasers that show both the exterior and the interior.

A compact sport utility vehicle or compact SUV is a class of small sport utility vehicles that is larger than mini SUVs, but smaller than mid-size SUVs. Many current compact SUVs are technically compact crossovers built on a compact/C-segment passenger car platform, while certain models may be based on a mid-size car (D-segment) or a B-segment platform.

A ‘mat rempit’ needs no introduction for Malaysian but if you did not already know, is someone who engages in activities such as illegal street racing, bike stunt performance, petty crime, and public disturbance using a motorbike, typically involving 2- and 4-stroke underbone motorcycles known commonly as Kapcai or scooters.

Recently, two motorbike riders were spotted approaching a traffic light that had turned red while speeding. One of the riders performing tricks failed to slow down and stop in time, colliding with a car that was making a U-turn from the opposite direction.

The LBX, which sits below the UX and is the new entry-level Lexus, is an indirect replacement for the long-gone CT hatchback. It is Lexus’ first vehicle in the B-segment ever since

The LBX sits on the GA-B small car global architecture platform which is used for the first time by a Lexus model. The new vehicle now has the essential advantages of a low centre of gravity, broad tracks, small overhangs, and a very robust body thanks to fundamental adjustments made to it to satisfy Lexus’s criteria.

Exterior

The most notable feature of the design is a new frontal configuration that “breaks” the spindle grille, which has been a defining feature for the past ten years and ushers Lexus into a new age. The seamless, frameless grille creates the spindle-shaped lines of the LBX’s body, adding to the vehicle’s aggressive posture.

A startlingly large number of automakers have returned to the world of prototype racing thanks to the Le Mans Hypercar class. It is unfortunate that Alfa Romeo is not one of them despite its racing heritage. But that doesn’t mean one can’t dream, and so designers like Daniel Kemnitz have shown us what an Alfa Romeo Hypercar could look like.

Kemnitz, a skilled automotive artist from Copenhagen, Denmark, revealed that the idea for his drawing of the Alfa Romeo P7 came to him while he was a student at IED Torino. He admitted, nevertheless, that a number of limitations—including a lack of time and other issues—led to the final project he presented to his academics falling short of his original expectations.
