Malaysia officially welcomes the iCAUR 03, making it the first market outside of China to receive the brand’s fully electric SUV. After its world premiere in Shanghai, the bold new model made its local debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 and has now been officially launched, marking a significant step forward for the nation’s electric vehicle landscape.

The iCAUR 03 sets out to combine rugged off-road ability with cutting-edge electric technology. Its sharp, angular design language, known as i-BOX, together with futuristic lighting elements, gives the SUV a striking presence. But beyond the looks, the model brings plenty of substance.

It is equipped with the iROAD system that offers 12 selectable drive modes, supported by a precision H-arm multilink rear suspension. At the heart of its performance is a 6-in-1 electric drive module, neatly packaging the motor controller, onboard charger, and inverter into a single compact unit for seamless power delivery across various terrains.

Safety has been given serious attention with the iCARE architecture, featuring Malaysia’s first all-aluminium monocoque chassis and body in an electric SUV. This provides a torsional rigidity of 31,812 Nm/deg—comparable to high-performance sports cars—while also cutting overall weight by 30 per cent.

To further boost safety, the SUV is equipped with a four-layer IPX8-rated armour system to protect its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This includes a 10mm aluminium impact shield, a Mica ceramic thermal barrier capable of withstanding temperatures beyond 1,000°C, along with two additional protective layers, ensuring reliable operation across demanding conditions.

Step inside, and the iCAUR 03 offers a tech-driven cockpit under the iBRAND banner. Drivers are greeted with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker INFINITY audio setup.

Adding to the futuristic vibe is a 540° Transparent Chassis camera, all tied together with the i-VA interface designed to keep drivers seamlessly connected and in control.

The SUV will be available in two drivetrain options. The 2WD model comes with a 184PS motor producing 220Nm of torque, powered by a 65.7kWh battery capable of delivering up to 426km of range (NEDC).

For those craving more capability, the iWD dual-motor variant puts out 279PS and 385Nm, paired with a 69.8kWh battery offering 418km of range. This version has been tuned for superior off-road performance, with added traction and stability in challenging conditions.

On the safety front, the iCAUR 03 incorporates Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Features such as Emergency Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Jam Assist aim to provide drivers with more confidence and peace of mind whether on highways or in the city.

The iCAUR 03 is available in five colours – Silver, Grey, White, Black, and the signature Aurora Green – and is priced at RM119,800 for the 2WD variant and RM129,800 for the iWD variant.

Buyers have a 7 years or 150,000km vehicle warranty, alongside an 8 years or 160,000km battery and drive unit warranty.

Ensuring the best protection for their investment, iCAUR customers will also benefit from the CARE Insurance Programme, developed in collaboration with Allianz General Insurance, Berjaya Sompo, AIG, Etiqa Takaful, Zurich, and Zurich Takaful.

This exclusive coverage goes beyond traditional protection to safeguard the EV Wallbox chargers and portable charging cables, complemented by unlimited towing services.

While Malaysia’s EV market has recently seen aggressive discounting, iCAUR takes a different approach by focusing on long-term value and ownership benefits.

The Black Phantom Edition can be specified for an additional RM20,000, featuring an exclusive exterior bodykit, matte-black finish, roof rack platform, and side-ladder.

Initially available as a fully built-up (CBU) import, local assembly of the iCAUR 03 will commence in January 2026 at the Chery Corporate Malaysia, Shah Alam plant, where it will join production alongside OMODA I JAECOO Malaysia models.

In tandem with the launch, ¡CAUR Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to exceptional customer experiences, announcing plans for up to 18 points of sale and nine fully fledged iCAUR service centres nationwide by September. This includes planned openings in Sabah and Sarawak within Q4 2025.

Lexus has officially unveiled the new IS, which made its world premiere on September 9 and is set to hit showrooms in early 2026 across various markets. This marks the next chapter for a model that has defined the compact FR sports sedan segment for over 25 years.

First introduced in 1999, the IS was built around one idea – driving enjoyment. Across three generations, it has earned a reputation for sharp handling, bold styling, and the unmistakable “Lexus Driving Signature.” With more than 1.3 million units sold in 40 countries since launch, it remains one of the brand’s most important nameplates, and Lexus is making sure the new model stays true to its roots while adding plenty of fresh touches.

The 2026 IS will be available in two variants: the IS 300h and IS 350. Development centred on the theme of “refinement in performance and design,” which essentially means Lexus wanted to sharpen its handling while keeping the design aggressive and sporty.

Rimac Technology has revealed its latest range of batteries, motors, and electronic systems at the IAA Mobility 2025 show in Munich. The Croatian company, already working with brands like BMW, Porsche, and CEER Motors, is aiming to deliver faster, safer, and more efficient electric vehicle technology — and in much bigger numbers than before.

On the battery side, Rimac introduced three new platforms. The first is a solid-state battery, developed with ProLogium and Mitsubishi Chemical Group, which promises lighter weight, higher safety, and better energy storage. The second is the Evo platform, using 46XX Gen2 cells and advanced cooling, designed for strong performance and daily use. The third, called Hybrid Technology, offers flexible setups for both hybrid and fully electric cars.

Rimac also launched new eAxles – small but powerful electric drive units. The SINTEG 300 and 550 can produce up to 360 kW and 6,250 Nm of torque in very compact sizes, suitable for anything from hot hatches to SUVs. Another highlight is the High Torque XXL Axle, set for production in 2026, delivering more than 11,000 Nm of axle torque with over 95% efficiency.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is a b-segment SUV that has defied expectations.

Even though it counts the Perodua Ativa and Honda WRV as direct competitors, it offers features that can put more expensive cars to shame.

Priced at RM88,800 for the Turbo variant and RM99,800 for the Hybrid, the Tiggo Cross offers a well-built interior and driving dynamics that just about anyone can appreciate.

The Tiggo Cross Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, inline-four cylinder aluminium engine making 147PS and 210Nm of torque.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a smooth shifting six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Hybrid on the other hand is powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated, inline-four engine that makes 102PS and 125Nm of torque by itself.

However, it also features two electric motors – one to drive the wheels and another to power the driving motor as well as to charge the 1.8kWh battery. Combined, the powertrain makes 204PS and 310Nm of torque.

Though Chery says the Hybrid has an electronic CVT, the truth is power is sent directly to the wheels and there is no transmission in the traditional sense.

So which should you spend your hard earned money on? We answer that question in the video below, or if you prefer to read, you can find our full review here.

CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), an agency under the Ministry of Digital, has officially launched the nation’s first Vehicle Forensics Laboratory, marking a big step forward in strengthening Malaysia’s digital forensic capabilities.

According to Bernama, the facility, unveiled by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, will play a crucial role in supporting investigations into road accidents as well as criminal cases linked to vehicles, including smuggling, human trafficking, and cross-border crime.

The new lab has been designed to collect, manage and analyse the vast amount of data generated by modern vehicles. Gobind explained that today’s cars are far more than just machines for transport – they are also digital data centres on wheels, storing information such as engine performance, driving behaviour, GPS locations, camera footage, and even infotainment system usage.

This performance pushed the brand’s year-to-date total to 62,246 vehicles, a result that reinforces Toyota’s standing as Malaysia’s most trusted non-national marque. The steady demand is being credited to Toyota’s Multipathway approach, which balances electrified options with tried-and-tested models that continue to serve everyday needs.

Toyota’s product strategy remains centred on giving Malaysians technology that fits their lifestyles, whether through dependable petrol models or accessible hybrid solutions. The company maintains that this balance is guided by Toyota’s global Mobility for All philosophy, a vision that places emphasis on delivering the right innovation at the right time without leaving customers behind.

Toyota’s history in Malaysia stretches back more than six decades. Since the first locally assembled Corolla rolled out in 1968, the brand has become deeply woven into Malaysian life. Models such as the Hilux, Vios and Camry are more than just popular choices – they have evolved into household names, trusted by families, businesses and communities alike. From balik kampung trips during festive seasons to hard-working pick-ups supporting farmers and traders, Toyota has consistently been part of Malaysia’s journey through growth and progress.

Volkswagen has pulled the wraps off its latest electric study, the ID. CROSS Concept, a compact SUV that points directly to an upcoming production model due in the summer of 2026.

This newcomer will expand VW’s growing family of smaller, more affordable EVs, following on from the ID.2 all, the ID. GTI and the ID. EVERY1 concepts.

Sized almost identically to the current T-Cross, the ID. CROSS measures 4,161 mm in length and 1,839 mm in width, yet it has been designed to offer generous space inside. The boot alone provides 450 litres of storage, complemented by an additional 25 litres under the bonnet.

That makes it a practical choice not only for city commutes but also for family outings, striking a balance between compact dimensions and everyday usability.

The concept makes a striking first impression with its bright Urban Jungle green paintwork, sitting on bold 21-inch Balboa alloy wheels wrapped in bespoke Goodyear tyres.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC has long been one of the brand’s best-selling SUVs, a go-to choice for those who want something more polished. Now, it steps into a new chapter with the introduction of the fully electric GLC with EQ Technology.

This latest addition marks the first time the GLC has been offered as a pure EV in the US market, setting it up against serious competition such as the Audi Q6, Porsche Macan Electric, and BMW’s recently revealed iX3.

Powering the new GLC is a 94.0 kWh lithium-ion battery, which in its most powerful form produces up to 483hp—slightly edging past the iX3’s 463hp. It’s not just about straight-line power either; Mercedes has ensured that the SUV delivers practicality, with a towing capacity of 2,400kg when fitted with the optional tow hitch.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S has never been short of praise. Its predecessor was already regarded as the ultimate all-rounder – blistering performance mixed with everyday comfort, long-distance capability and that touch of exclusivity Porsche owners love. Now, the latest version takes things to a whole new level, delivering more power, sharper dynamics, smarter aerodynamics and an even more premium finish.

At the heart of it all is a brand-new T-Hybrid powertrain producing a staggering 711PS and 800Nm of torque, making this the most powerful production 911 ever built. Power is available across a wide rev range, with full output kicking in between 6,500 and 7,000 rpm.

The system uses Porsche’s 400V lightweight hybrid technology and two electric turbochargers – a step up from the single eTurbo setup that debuted in the Carrera GTS. This not only boosts outright performance but also sharpens throttle response, eliminating the lag often associated with turbocharged engines.
