Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Honda Malaysia) has officially launched its latest Honda 3S Centre located in Pasir Gudang, Johor by Yong Ming Motor Sdn. Bhd. (Yong Ming Motor). With this opening, Honda Malaysia has 97 dealerships nationwide with 12 dealerships in Johor to-date to provide easier accessibility and more convenience to customers.

Yong Ming Motor invested a total of RM18.5 million into the 77,000-square foot building in Pasir Gudang that is equipped with latest facilities and equipment. This 4-storey building (including basement parking) houses 14 bays, comprising 9 Service Bays, 3 General Repair Bays and 2 Tyre Service Bays that can accommodate up to 30 cars per day. On top of that, the new Honda 3S Centre has conducive and comfortable lounges especially for customers to relax in or catch up on work. There is also a free flow of food and beverage for customers to enjoy, Kids Corner and appropriately-assigned prayer rooms for Muslims to perform their prayers while waiting for their cars to be serviced.

Yong Ming Motor has a well-established relationship with Honda for over 48 years and the opening of this new Honda 3S Centre in Pasir Gudang marks its second Honda dealership. The first Yong Ming Motor Honda dealership opened in Skudai, where they have maintained high quality sales and after-sales service which has enabled them to consistently emerge as a top dealer. This showroom that we are opening today represents our continuing commitment to Honda Malaysia.” The opening of new Yong Ming Motor Honda 3S Centre in Pasir Gudang is timely to support the increasing customers and after-sales service intake in Johor and able to provide the best quality service to them.

Based on the record, the after-sales intake rose 51% in the past five years. From January to November of 2018, the southern region alone recorded over 235,000 service intakes, an increase of 13% against the same period last year.

In terms of sales performance by region, the southern region was the second highest contributor with more than 17,000 units sold from January to October 2018 an increase of 2% when compared to the same period in 2017. This achievement is largely thanks to the Johor state which was the highest contributor to the southern region, accounting for over 12,000 units sold. Model-wise, the B-segment leader, City tops the chart as the best-selling model in the southern region. This model contributed 24% to the total southern region sales followed by Civic and CR-V which contributed 11% and 9% respectively to the regional sales units during this period.

One of the things that was playing at the back of our minds in regards to KLIMS 2018, was how it was going to be insofar as crowd attendance was concerned. And with that in mind, we headed back to MITEC, the new venue of the KL International Motorshow, on Sunday 25th, technically the first weekend of the show. This is what it looked like! Wait for the surprise at the end…

Another big surprise was the appearance of the Proton R3 Racing Team (below), who’d just won the S1K, or Sepang 1000km Race the day before, and we managed to catch their full interview and meet-the-fans session at the Proton pavilion…

Of course as expected the crowd at the abovementioned Proton pavilion was massive, packed with those who came to see the new X70 SUV, which will be officially launched on 12th December (probably at KL Convention Centre) during which Proton will FINALLY reveal its price…

The 2-wheel section of KLIMS was participated by Kawasaki Malaysia, Benelli and Honda, who showcased the awesome new GoldWing Tourer, remarkable…

It was also heartening to see that Peugeot was getting quite a lot of visitors, many were enthralled by the new Peugeot 308 GTi

Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, there is no official Supercar representation at KLIMS 2018, however, thanks to the ‘peripheral’ pavilions, there was still some eye-candy to ogle… we’re referring to the cars of course…

Honda Malaysia recently celebrated a milestone for its best-selling model, which is also the No.1 model in the B-segment, the City, with the sales of its 300,000th unit in Malaysia. The City’s popularity in Malaysia is undeniable. The 2nd Generation City which was launched in 2001 sold more than 61,000 units while the 3rd Generation City brought the legacy a step higher with more than 85,000 units sold. The current 4th Generation City recorded more than 155,300 units since its launch in 2014. When the newly enhanced and refreshed 4th Generation City was launched in March 2017, it continued to be well accepted, with more than 48,900 units sold since then till August 2018.

Between January to August 2018, sales of the City contributed 30% to the overall sales for Honda Malaysia, and captured 51% of the market share in the B-segment. During the same period, sales showed an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2017. These positive numbers resulted in Honda Malaysia maintaining its No.1 position in the Non-National segment and No.2 position in overall Total Industry Volume (TIV) to-date. Throughout the period of January to August 2018, the E variant emerged as the top selling variant with a sales contribution of 44% while the V variant contributed 33%. Sales from the Central region was the highest contributor at 49%, followed by Southern region and Northern region at 20% and 19% respectively.

Commenting on the milestone achieved by the City, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Office, Mr. Toichi Ishiyama said, “We are delighted to mark this milestone of surpassing the 300,000 unit sales for the City within a span of 17 years since it was first introduced in Malaysia. This has proven the success of the City in Malaysia. The 4th Generation City is the best-selling model in Honda and the model continues to lead in the B-segment. This outstanding record achievement would not have been possible without the support from our customers. I would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thankfulness to Malaysians for their support and belief in our brand, and for making City their vehicle of choice.”

The City is powered by Honda’s 1.5L i-VTEC engine combined with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). Paired with a fun and responsive paddle shift, the City provides the Joy of Driving through a perfect combination of performance and fuel economy. Further elevating its sleek and stylish design, the City comes with LED Headlights* with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and LED Front Fog Lights*. Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels are equipped as well to provide a stylish appearance.

September is a special month for both Malaysia and Honda. As the nation celebrates Malaysia’s unity and Honda global commemorates its 70th Anniversary, Honda Malaysia is honouring this double celebration with a Double Joy campaign that rewards customers with rebates. As alluded by the campaign name, customers can now enjoy double bonuses in the form of Honda Bonus together with Honda 70th Birthday Bonus, starting from the Civic with RM2,500 to the Civic Type R with RM20,000 for selected models registered from 1 September to 30 September 2018*.

During the Double Joy campaign period, customers are also entitled to participate in the Joy of Buying contest, in which they will stand a chance of winning one of the seven City being given out as grand prizes over seven weeks. As the No.1 car marque in the Non-National segment from January to July 2018, Honda Malaysia is continuously working hard to retain and strengthen its position in the market. During the three-month tax holiday period of 1 June to 31 August 2018, Honda Malaysia recorded a remarkable sales performance by selling over 35,000 units, accounting for 47% of the total sales from January to August 2018.

Throughout these three months, the City, Civic and Jazz were the hot favourites among customers. The City was the most popular model, accounting for 35% of the sales during this period, followed by Civic at 17% and Jazz at 15%. Region-wise, the Central region contributed the most sales for Honda Malaysia during this period, accounting for 48% of the overall sales. Honda Malaysia will continue to excite the market with more attractive campaigns and products. The soon-to-be launched New HR-V has been gaining widespread attention and is creating much anticipation in the market.

Alongside this impending new model launch and following the new pricing for its petrol models, Honda Malaysia will also be announcing the new price for Honda Hybrid CKD models once it has been finalised. The market feedback on Honda Hybrid models is encouraging and the company is set to continue selling Hybrid models in the future.

  • Semua harga tertera telah dikemaskinikan dengan cukai jualan SST 10%.

  • Bagi khidmat selepas jualan seperti servis, cukai perkhidmatan 6% akan ditambahkan.

Honda Malaysia baru sahaja mengumumkan harga kenderaan-kenderaan mereka yang kini telah dikuatkuasakan dengan Cukai Jualan dan Perkhidmatan SST mulai 1 September 2018. Harga terkini adalah harga atas jalan dengan cukai jualan 10%.
