Proton Delivers 999 Units of All-New X50 Within Five Days Amid Strong Market Response

Proton has commenced nationwide deliveries of its all-new X50 SUV, with 999 units reaching customers just five working days after the official launch on 24 July. The rapid delivery follows an extensive pre-launch campaign and careful stock planning, ensuring the brand could reward early supporters even before the pricing was officially revealed.

By the end of July, a total of 2,000 units had been produced at Proton’s Tanjong Malim plant, with output expected to remain high in the coming months to meet surging demand. Within just ten days of opening bookings, 5,000 reservations were secured—despite no price announcement at the time. That number has now grown to 8,000 bookings.

The marketing push for the new X50 is far from over. Proton has collaborated with several local entertainment platforms to boost visibility among younger demographics. A highlight of these efforts includes a partnership with local pop group De Fam, who debuted a dedicated song and music video during the vehicle’s launch event. Proton has unveiled the world’s first Bahasa Melayu Voice Recognition (VR) system, integrated into the newly launched All-New Proton X50. This development positions the national automaker as a global pioneer in intelligent in-car technology, seven years after it first introduced its English-language “Hi Proton” voice assistant in 2018.

At the core of the new Proton X50’s advanced digital interface is a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, now capable of understanding and responding to voice commands in both English and Bahasa Melayu. This bilingual feature sets Proton apart as the only car manufacturer in the world to offer such dual-language voice command functionality, providing a more inclusive, intuitive and safer driving experience tailored to Malaysian motorists.

The Bahasa Melayu VR assistant has been given the name “Aisyah”—a personable and approachable female persona designed to evoke the warmth of a companion or trusted family member. The system was developed in just seven months, well ahead of its original year-long schedule. Between October 2024 and May 2025, engineers and language experts worked intensively to develop the technology, collecting over 4,000 unique voice command phrases in both Bahasa Melayu and English.

The All-New Proton X50 has captured the attention of Malaysians nationwide, with 5,000 bookings recorded within just 10 days of opening its order books on 5 July. The overwhelming response follows a highly successful nationwide prelaunch tour that brought the new SUV to major city attractions, where eager onlookers turned up in droves for a glimpse of Proton’s latest B-segment contender.

According to Proton, one booking for the All-New X50 is received every three minutes. This impressive rate reflects a 50 per cent take-up of the early bird promotion, which offers a RM1,000 cash rebate, a special edition Touch ‘n Go card, and an exclusive GEMPAK! Deal. These incentives are reserved for the first 10,000 customers, with only half of that number still available.

The full pricing structure of the All-New X50 will be disclosed during its official launch event, scheduled for the evening of 24 July. Ahead of that, Proton has announced that public test drives will commence at showrooms nationwide from 19 July, giving potential buyers the opportunity to experience the vehicle’s performance and features first-hand.

Proton Tingkatkan Pegangan Pasaran Walaupun TIV Menurun Sebanyak 21% Pada Bulan Jun

Separuh pertama tahun 2025 telah berakhir dan Proton telah berjaya meningkatkan pegangan pasarannya dalam pasaran automotif Malaysia. Jualan kumpulan pada bulan Jun berjumlah 11,069 unit telah menunjukkan peningkatan kecil berbanding bulan yang sama pada tahun 2024. Sementara itu, jumlah jualan tahun sehingga kini (YTD) dicatat sebanyak 72,156 unit, menjadikannya yang kedua tertinggi dalam industri.

Pegangan pasaran Proton bagi bulan Jun dianggarkan berada pada 20.7%, peningkatan sebanyak 1.1% berbanding bulan sebelumnya dan 1.2% lebih tinggi daripada angka YTD 19.5%. Sebaliknya, Jumlah Volum Industri (TIV) dianggarkan pada 53,500 unit pada bulan Jun, penurunan sebanyak 21% berbanding angka TIV 68,007 unit pada bulan Mei.

Salah satu faktor utama pencapaian jualan Proton adalah prestasi kukuh model SUV Segmen-B, Proton X50. Dilancarkan pada Oktober 2020, lebih 140,000 unit telah terjual di Malaysia dan pasaran luar negara, sekaligus mengukuhkan kedudukannya sebagai model terlaris dalam kelasnya selama lima tahun berturut-turut.

Pada Jun 2025, sebanyak 1,657 unit Proton X50 telah berjaya dijual, mengekalkannya posisinya dalam kalangan semua pesaing dalam kelas tersebut. Jumlah ini merangkumi 353 unit untuk pasaran eksport, di mana model ini menyumbang 47% daripada jumlah volum eksport. Bagi separuh pertama tahun ini, sebanyak 11,361 unit Proton X50 telah terjual, menandakan peningkatan sebanyak 11.3% berbanding enam bulan pertama tahun 2024.
