Tesla telah dikeluarkan daripada Pameran Auto Antarabangsa Vancouver minggu ini berikutan kebimbangan keselamatan yang dikemukakan oleh penganjur acara. Keputusan tersebut dibuat susulan bantahan berterusan terhadap pengeluar kenderaan elektrik itu serta Ketua Pegawai Eksekutifnya, Elon Musk.

Menurut Eric Nicholl, Pengarah Eksekutif pameran tersebut, langkah itu diambil bagi memastikan keselamatan pekerja, peserta dan pempamer. Beliau menjelaskan bahawa Tesla telah diberikan beberapa peluang untuk menarik diri secara sukarela sebelum penganjur secara rasmi meminta syarikat itu untuk berundur. Keputusan tersebut bertujuan untuk memastikan pengunjung dapat memberi tumpuan sepenuhnya kepada acara tanpa sebarang gangguan.

Pameran Auto Antarabangsa Vancouver, yang berlangsung di Pusat Konvensyen Vancouver, akan bermula pada hari Rabu dan berterusan sehingga Ahad. Tesla has been removed from this week’s Vancouver International Auto Show due to safety concerns, according to event organisers. The decision follows ongoing protests against the automaker and its CEO, Elon Musk.

Eric Nicholl, the executive director of the show, stated that the removal was necessary to ensure the safety of workers, attendees, and exhibitors. He explained that Tesla had been given multiple opportunities to withdraw voluntarily before organisers formally asked the company to step aside. The decision, he added, was made to allow visitors to focus on the event’s positive aspects without disruption.

The Vancouver International Auto Show, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, is set to begin on Wednesday and will run through Sunday. It has established itself as Western Canada’s most well-attended consumer auto exhibition and one of North America’s premier automotive events. The 2024 edition saw record-breaking attendance, and organisers had promised an exhibition featuring the latest in environmentally focused electric vehicles, lifestyle displays, and commercial vendors.

Presiden Amerika Syarikat, Donald Trump, mengecam keras insiden keganasan yang menyasarkan pengedar kenderaan Tesla, menyatakan bahawa tindakan tersebut akan diklasifikasikan sebagai keganasan domestik dan pelakunya akan menghadapi tindakan tegas. Dalam usaha mencapai sasaran pelepasan ketat Kesatuan Eropah (EU) menjelang 2025, beberapa pengeluar kereta utama telah membentuk kerjasama strategik dengan Tesla. Langkah ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan lebihan tenaga bersih Tesla bagi mengimbangi pelepasan karbon dan mengelakkan denda besar.

Keperluan Sasaran Pelepasan EU

Peraturan EU menetapkan pelepasan CO₂ purata keseluruhan armada kenderaan dikurangkan daripada 106.6 gram CO₂ per kilometer kepada 93.6 gram pada tahun 2025. Setiap pengeluar memiliki sasaran khusus berdasarkan komposisi armada mereka.

Untuk menangani cabaran ini, jenama seperti Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Stellantis, Subaru, dan Leapmotor telah membentuk “Superpool” dengan Tesla. Gabungan ini kini mewakili 33% pasaran kenderaan dan 30% pasaran EV di Eropah.

In a bid to comply with the European Union’s stringent emissions targets for 2025, several major car manufacturers have joined forces with Tesla. The collaboration aims to pool emissions credits, leveraging Tesla’s clean-energy surplus to offset shortfalls and dodge significant fines.

Under the EU’s regulations, overall fleet emissions must fall from 106.6 grams of CO₂ per kilometre to 93.6 grams this year. Each automaker has specific targets to meet based on their fleet composition. To address the challenge, Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Stellantis, Subaru, and Leapmotor have formed a “Superpool” with Tesla. Together, these brands represent 33% of the vehicle market and 30% of the EV market in Europe.

Tesla’s Role and the Financial Stakes

Tesla, the global leader in emissions credit trading, plays a critical role in this strategy. The pooling agreement narrows the group’s emissions gap to within 4 grams of the target, according to Will Roberts, Automotive Research Lead at Rho Motion.
