iCAUR Malaysia has previewed its latest model, the iCAUR V23 — an all-electric off-road SUV that pushes the brand’s ambitions further into Malaysia’s fast-growing EV scene. Following the success of the iCAUR 03 earlier this year, the new C-segment SUV blends modern performance and safety with a nostalgic, rugged design inspired by classic off-roaders of the past.

First shown as a concept at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the iCAUR V23 has now made its first official appearance in right-hand drive form at The Starhill in Kuala Lumpur, ahead of its local launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. Compact yet muscular, it measures 4,220 mm long, 1,915 mm wide, and 1,845 mm tall, riding on a 2,735 mm wheelbase — proportions that give it a confident stance whether in the city or on rougher trails.

The V23 will be available in two configurations: rear-wheel drive (2WD) and intelligent all-wheel drive (iWD). The 2WD variant features a single rear motor producing 136 PS and 180 Nm of torque, paired with a 59.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. For those seeking more punch, the iWD version adds a front motor for a combined output of 211 PS and 292 Nm, powered by a larger 81.8 kWh ternary lithium (NMC) battery.

Range is a key strength for both models, with the 2WD capable of 401 km on the NEDC cycle, while the iWD variant extends that to 501 km. The 2WD completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 11 seconds, while the more powerful iWD variant cuts that time down to 7.5 seconds. Both are electronically limited to 140 km/h.

Toyota recently held an event in Japan called the Toyota Motor Asia Media Day, where it talked about its future plans for Asia. The company wants to focus on mobility for everyone and carbon neutrality, meaning it aims to make travel easier while reducing pollution.

Toyota said it wants to be the “Best in Town”, by building safe and reliable cars that help local communities. Its plan has three parts — improving cars (Mobility 1.0), giving more people access to transport (Mobility 2.0), and linking mobility with energy and city systems (Mobility 3.0).

Chairman Akio Toyoda said the company’s goal is not just to sell cars, but to create solutions that fit each community’s needs. A big part of this is the IMV project, which started in 2002 and made strong, affordable vehicles like the Hilux for developing countries. A new IMV series, including an electric version (IMV BEV), is now being developed.
