Proton 2018

Setia Gemilang Auto Sdn Bhd was officially launched as the first upgraded PROTON 4S dealer outlet, carrying Proton’s new refreshed look. The event was officiated by Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, in the presence of Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and other senior management members of PROTON.

A new chapter begins…
The ‘new’ PROTON has begun for the dealer network, with the launch of the upgraded Setia Gemilang 4S outlet. This marks a new standard set to ensure sales and service platform are in tandem with the Company’s business model and objective to provide a new enhanced customer experience. “I am pleased that the upgrading exercise of the new 4S and 3S outlets are progressing well especially with excellent team effort displayed by our Dealers together with the team from PROTON. The new set up will stand to attract more people to the outlet, as consumers usually like to see and experience new things, new surroundings, new look and feel; and better ambience…

(cont’d) The interior and exterior are fitted with placement of different colours to display youthfulness and modernity, with significant spaces created for the kids’ corner, customer lounge and coffee area. Customers who enter the outlet will be able to enjoy the new facilities, comfortable waiting lounge while waiting to service their cars, with the convenience of free wifi to keep customers connected all the time. We care for our customers’ needs and we want to emphasise that customer satisfaction remains our key priority. Most importantly, we want to convey the message of a brand new PROTON moving forward,” said Dr Li.

New refreshed look…
With the launch of the first 4S upgraded centre, PROTON also showcased the new look with new elements. The new look incorporates new colours that represent global lifestyle, technology driven, youthful exuberance and caring attitude. The new look is to be splashed across the exterior and interior of the sales and service areas, for a fresher, dynamic and bolder PROTON.

On the exterior, brighter colours are incorporated to reflect a youthful image, whilst for the interior, the reception area is refreshed to create warmth for customers. There are also lifestyle wall graphics to give the interior a lively atmosphere. For more exclusivity, there are also dim yellow lights at the customer lounge area which provide customers with a cosy warm feeling when they walk into the area. For a wholesome effect, the sales delivery bay display contemporary graphic murals to create a chic and modern effect.

First national carmaker Proton hosted another round of dealers signing ceremony and this time a total of 12 existing, and 3 new dealers were present for the ceremony. The Dealers Network Upgrade and New Dealership Agreement signing ceremony was held at PROTON Centre of Excellence. Representing PROTON was Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who signed the agreement with the dealers.

Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON and senior management members of PROTON were present to grace the occasion. In less than five months, PROTON has achieved 72% of its 2018 intended target for its outlets nationwide to have 3S and 4S status. On a strong footing, PROTON is on track with its plan to attain 109 outlets of 3S and 4S stature by end of October 2018, and the Company is getting closer to the benchmark target earlier than expected.

“I am happy to share that within a period of less than five months, that is from January – 18 May this year, we managed to accomplish 79 outlets with 3S and 4S status, which is approximately 72% achievement against target set for the year. This is absolutely good news, a wonderful moment for PROTON, and with the upgrading taking place, we are confident that we are on steady grounds to provide world class excellence by delivering best sales and service experience for our customers,” said Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.

Li also mentioned, “I also wish to thank new investors who joined us as Dealers of the PROTON family. While all of us were tirelessly making plans to drive PROTON forward, we are very encouraged by the fact that we have the support of new investors along the way, who are game to take on the challenge of being a PROTON dealer. This can only mean one thing – that we still have strong brand presence in the market and because of this, many came on board to sail on the PROTON journey into the future with us. Thank you for believing in us. Now we can all charge ahead and be the driving force of the brand”.

And on that note, in terms of sales, the recent announcement by the Malaysia government for zero-rated Goods & Services Tax (GST) to come into effect on 1 June 2018, car buyers will be enjoying a tax holiday with substantial savings on car prices. PROTON customers stand to gain even more as the national car maker strives to boost its value for money proposition.

Despite zero-rated GST only due for implementation on 1 June 2018, buyers of Proton cars can enjoy lower post GST pricing with immediate effect. Though the sticker price will remain the same until the date GST gets zero-rated, all customers will be offered the choice between an instant cash rebate for cars registered from 16 May to 31 May or service vouchers equivalent in value to the difference between the current and new price of the car, effective June.

Adding to the potential savings PROTON customers receive in May are exciting sales initiatives that make it even easier to own a Proton car. The current Kosong-kosong promotion (above) means buyers of the Proton Iriz (Executive and Premium variant), Proton Ertiga (all variants) and Proton Exora (all variants) who sign-up with Hong Leong Bank will receive 0% financing for the first year*. Customers who prefer to buy a Proton Saga or Proton Persona will receive free 3-months installment if they finance their new car via PROTON Commerce*.

As for fans of Proton Suprima S (above), they will enjoy whopping discounts of up to RM15,172 on top of the zero-rated GST pricing for these cars. The zero-rated GST offer extends also to servicing at all authorised PROTON service centres where a 6% discount (for labour and periodical maintenance parts only) is being offered to all owners who send in their cars for periodical maintenance.

Zero instalment. Zero interest
These offers are in addition to the current Kosong-kosong promotion where buyers of the Proton Iriz (Executive and Premium variant), Proton Ertiga (all variants) and Proton Exora (all variants) who sign up for 9-year loan tenures with Hong Leong Bank are eligible for 0% financing for the first year. Those who opt for the Proton Saga or Proton Persona instead and finance their purchase with a 7-year loan from PROTON Commerce are eligible to receive free 3-months instalment, subject to terms and conditions.

“PROTON is supportive of the new Malaysian government’s efforts to reduce the cost of living for the rakyat. Despite zero rated GST only coming into effect on 1 June, we have decided to reward our customers immediately as a token of gratitude for their support and in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan,” said Abdul Rashid Musa, PROTON Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

The offer is applicable to all Proton cars bought and registered from 16 May to 31 May 2018 and supplements other sales promotions.
“PROTON announced an initiative to give Malaysian car buyers the benefit of paying zero rated GST prices before it comes into effect recently. Today, we are giving them options on how they would like to receive this benefit, either as service vouchers or a cash rebate. There is now no reason to wait until 1 June 2018 to buy a new Proton as we have delivered the savings ahead of time,” said Abdul Rashid Musa, PROTON Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

In Early March this year, a group of 33 PROTON dealers got the opportunity to visit one of Geely’s dealer outlets in Shanghai. The dealer visit was established with the focus to enable PROTON dealers to have a real look and experience Geely’s dealer set up and how this experience could be helpful in setting up similar facade and feel here in Malaysia.

For Lum Hon Yoon, of Gagah Murni Sdn Bhd, “It is a good experience being here. We get to see closer how a Geely dealer outlet looks like. There is a good use of space. More importantly, it has different areas for customers to feel comfortable, there are coffee area, discussion area, children area and reading area as well. This means that this place is catered for the whole family. Parents do not have to worry so much as the kids will have a play area, or if the wife needs reading time, then she can occupy the reading area, hence anyone can come and be occupied with something and not be bored while waiting for the car to be serviced,” Lum explained.

These areas serve its purpose and many of the dealers liked the idea, and view it as a modern family needs. “People are always busy and the idea to send in a car for service for a few hours seem like a whole day. With built-in areas such as the discussion area, this could also serve as a meeting point where two or more people can come and have a small discussion. Moreover, the existence of a coffee area means that you do not have to run to the nearest Starbucks or Coffee Bean just to get your morning or afternoon coffee fix to get your day going,” observed Aw Chiew Soon, of Warna Bestari Sdn Bhd.

Razali Ahmad, of Erakars Sdn Bhd shared similar views. “The showroom area is more or less like the ones we currently have in PROTON outlets. What separates it is the spacious waiting area and the comfortable rest area that looks like your home living room, which is what I anticipate customers will like the most. The additional facilities becomes the pull factor in attracting customers to come service their cars. At least patrons can occupy their time in the most productive ways, so overall it is a plus factor”.
For some other dealers, what impressed them was the smart uniform, and their professional ways of greeting the PROTON entourage.

“As for me, the spaciousness of the waiting area is an appealing idea. More so, what impresses me is their uniform. The guys and girls all look so smart. This is also good for business. Customers who come in, could feel the ‘one ness’ in their approach. For us, it is all about attracting customers to showroom,” explained Azizulmu’min Mohd Hussein Malim, of Rohamas Corporation Sdn Bhd.

“Furthermore, when sales and service staff speak the same language, be it in terms of uniform, or approach, it confers a lot of confidence amongst the customers, hence selling a product becomes easier, aside from good product knowledge,” Azizulmu’min said.

Footnote from the Editor: So our dear Proton Dealers, are you convinced yet? Other carmakers have been offering this kind of customer service at their premises here for decades, thus it really isn’t asking too much for ALL Proton outlets to do the same now, is it? – Chris Wee.

Our first national carmaker, Proton, announced another round of the Dealers Network Upgrade agreement at a signing ceremony recently, held at the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam. Following the earlier two batches which were held in December 2017 and January 2018, this time, a total of 10 dealers will be upgrading their outlets to 3S and 4S.

Present at the ceremony were, Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON and Yohan Mokhtar, Director of Special Project of PROTON, who signed the agreements on behalf of PROTON. Positive on the future, Proton is encouraged by the increasing number of dealers who are upgrading their outlets to 3S and 4S to serve their customers better and to ensure that customers get the best – top notch sales and services experience when they visit a Proton outlet.

“Month by month, we see more dealers joining to upgrade their outlets. Surely, this means that Proton is a brand worth investing – a promising brand. I am delighted that we have many entrepreneurs here who share the same view. I applaud their courage and farsightedness. These are businessmen who understand the need to invest more now, in order to enjoy much more in the future. Customers today are very different than before. Their needs have gone from expectation of a simple service when they walk into an outlet, to a different level all together. Now it becomes a lifestyle need. It is important for us to stay connected with the market requirements in order for us to be on top of our game, and to serve our customers professionally and with integrity,” said Dr. Li.

Li also added that the opportunities in PROTON are abundant for those interested to join the PROTON dealership. “I truly believe we are on a strong foundation to elevate PROTON to greater heights. There is never a better time than now to be part of the PROTON dealership. Already, we have a very good dealer incentive support scheme, which is one of the best in the industry. Our chance is here and now, and you should grab the opportunity to grow together with us. I am sure, the decision you make today is a stepping stone for better things to come. With your support, PROTON will progress and rise, and together we shall make it a success story”.

Recently, in an effort to further convince Proton Dealers just how serious Geely is about the partnership with Proton, a visit in early March was organised for them to the Geely Research Institute (GRI) in Hangzhou Bay, which opened their eyes to the possibilities awaiting in future thanks to the technology they are developing and the scope of research being done by Geely.

You can read about their observations at this link here: NEWS RELEASE – THE GEELY EFFECT _ FROM THE MOUTHS OF PROTON DEALERS

First national carmaker PROTON has launched an online poll, inviting the public to vote for the name of its first SUV. The online poll will run for one month on the official PROTON Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ProtonCarsOfficial) and is open to all Malaysians with no purchase conditions attached.

“We would like to share this significant milestone for PROTON with our fellow Malaysians as the new SUV (video below) also represents a symbol of Malaysian achievement. Therefore, we will reward the public for participating as well as select five lucky poll respondents as winners to receive some exciting prizes” said PROTON VP of Sales and Marketing, Abdul Rashid Musa.

RM100,000 worth of gift vouchers will be shared among participants as a token of appreciation while the five winners will be chosen based on the best reasons given for the name they have voted. Their prize package will consist of a ‘money-can’t-buy’ experience consisting of exclusive VIP invites to the launch as well as the honour of being among the first people to test drive and experience the technology and advanced features of the SUV at PROTON’s test track in Shah Alam.

There is also the option of proposing an alternative name for the SUV. Should the alternative name be picked, one lucky winner will be rewarded with a 4D/3N tour package to Hangzhou and Shanghai for two, inclusive of a visit to the headquarters of Geely.

PROTON’s first SUV is the first model to be jointly developed with Geely. It will be the first premium C-segment SUV produced by a Malaysian automotive brand and will be equipped with features usually found on more expensive rivals including a long list of passive, active and cognitive safety systems. It is also the first of many future products that will go on to revamp the brand values of PROTON in the next few years.

The closing date for submitting the survey is 30th April 2018 at 11.59pm and winners will be announced closer to the launch date of the SUV, which is expected to be in the 4th quarter of 2018.

Can you believe it? We’re already in the third month of 2018, almost into the second quarter, and thus far, our first national carmaker has been keeping rather quiet insofar as launches are concerned, so what are they up to? Well, this for starters…

Apart from that, believe it or not, there’s really not much going to happen car-launch wise until the ‘big event’ in the fourth quarter of this year, when Proton unveils its new SUV based on the Geely Boyue. Sources have speculated that buyers will have all the space, performance and kit of a Honda CR-V, but at a HR-V price. That’s pretty good I’d say. Here’s a look at the Boyue in action (dialogue in Chinese):

But February 2018 apparently was a busy month for Proton as the company concentrated on activities aimed at having a successful year ahead. Initiatives for Sales, Marketing and Quality Improvement were put in place, while testing for its first above-mentioned SUV developed together with Geely continue. Here’s some of the local media testing it in China last year (dialogue in Bahasa Malaysia):

These initiatives will carry on in March and beyond, with specific models and areas targeted for improvement, namely:

Global Horizon…
On the international scene the Chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Li Shufu, announced he had acquired a 9.69% stake in German company Daimler thus making him the single largest shareholder of Mercedes-Benz and Daimler trucks. PROTON could gain from it via its partnership with Geely who currently owns 49.9% of the total shares of Proton.

The ongoing quality journey…
Ever since the tie-up with Geely was announced, PROTON has undergone a quality improvement programme with its partner by using an assessment system that is based on Volvo’s global scoring criteria. In December 2017, an audit was performed by Geely and showed a remarkable threefold improvement, which is testament to the effectiveness of the ongoing work between the two companies.

Further improvements are gradually being introduced and with the next audit scheduled to take place in March 2018, PROTON is confident of achieving a further improvement of its audit score. These improvements are vital as preparations get underway for the launch of PROTON’s first SUV, currently scheduled for the end of 2018.

Iriz in focus…
Despite the advent of the new MyVi and the runaway success story it has become, for February 2018, PROTON achieved sales that were equivalent to a 9.6% share of the overall Malaysian automotive market. The majority of sales was accounted for by the Saga, Persona, Exora and in particular Iriz, which “continues to attract strong interest due to their design, technology and value for money proposition” (source: Proton). Here’s our video take on the Iriz Premium 1.6:

In March 2018, PROTON’s ‘My Style, My Drive’ campaign hits sales galleries nationwide and for this month, it focuses on the Proton Iriz. Customers are invited to rediscover the award-winning compact hatchback by taking a comprehensive test drive to appreciate the new features that were introduced in the updated model in 2017. You can read our full review with videos on it here.

At the same time, PROTON staff will also engage customers to offer advice on how to best use the various smart features of the car while select showrooms are equipped with a safety corner to demonstrate the safety aspects of PROTON’s 5-star ASEAN NCAP rated hatchback. Here’s my final say on the car…

This roadshow is still on-going so head over to your nearest Proton showroom to check it out.

Our first national carmaker Proton has responded to a statement issued by PEKEMA recently, and here it is in its entirety, unedited, unembellished and uncut. – Piston.my

(As a refresher, this is what they were responding to, courtesy of SAYS.com)

“PROTON would like to respond to the article entitled, Pengedar Bumiputera Proton Tertekan that was published on 11 February 2018 by Utusan Malaysia. We would firstly like to thank PEKEMA and its members for highlighting issues faced by its members as it gives the Company an opportunity to address the challenges faced by its dealer network.

The search for a Foreign Strategic Partner
Addressing the article specifically, PROTON acknowledge the tough challenges it faced over the preceding years. Since 2000 a decline in market share and sales volume had affected the ability of the Company to finance its research and development activities, which led to falling behind its competitors in terms of technology and product competitiveness. It also indirectly affected investments in developing the network, staff and manufacturing abilities of the Company.

In its efforts to address the decline, PROTON tried various approaches ranging from platform sharing with other brands to developing its own engines and transmissions to reduce dependence on imported parts. While these actions brought about positive results, none were able to arrest the continuing decline in sales and market share that were apparent both in Malaysia as well as in foreign markets.

Therefore, the need for a Foreign Strategic Partner quickly became more apparent if PROTON wanted to stage a recovery to its former position at the head of the Malaysian automotive market. It would also help in our aspirations to grow the brand both locally and abroad, which is a key thrust for the future business plans of the Company.

Following an exhaustive search that had taken a considerable amount of time, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. Ltd. (Geely) was identified as the most appropriate foreign strategic partner. Due to their global reach, aggressive business strategy and the ownership of other automotive brands, most notably Volvo Cars, it would allow for the sharing of technologies and quick expansion of the brand that would put PROTON back at the forefront of the automotive industry.

The steps taken to engineering a turnaround It was decided that the recovery of PROTON in Malaysia would encompass a number of areas. Among the areas involved would be an improvement of the dealership network, the introduction of a new model range over the next few years and an increase in customer satisfaction via an improved sales and service experience.

The improvements to the dealership network would be in line with the practice of other brands in Malaysia, where the majority of their dealers sell from 3S/4S outlets. Of the PROTON outlets currently in the nationwide network, about 70% are 1S facilities where the dealers only sell vehicles without offering any after sales servicing. This is a far higher representation of such dealers than other popular brands, which limits the ability of PROTON to offer a premium customer experience.

Due to the lack of 3S/4S outlets, PROTON’s Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores have suffered as compared to other automotive players. With a plan in place to increase the number of such outlets, it is expected that both SSI and CSI scores will grow along with a corresponding increase in sales.

These new outlets will go hand-in-hand with the launching of an all-new range of PROTON models that will be developed with infusion of advanced technology.

These initiatives will push PROTON further, introducing new groups of customers to the brand who may have been considering competitor products previously. Addressing statements brought up by PEKEMA Relating specifically to the statements brought up by PEKEMA, PROTON would like to address these statements in order to explain the development of its business model:

  • With regards to the lack of time given to dealers to upgrade their 1S outlets to 3S/4S outlets, dealers are encouraged to upgrade their outlets over a period stretching from 2018-2020. The target for 2018 is to substantially increase the number of 3S outlets located nationwide, which will enhance overall customer experience with the introduction of our new models beginning 2018. Currently the 3S/4S dealerships nationwide, is equivalent to only 30% of our total dealerships.
  • PROTON recognizes that a substantial sum of money needs to be spent by the dealers on this exercise. Therefore, we introduced a special scheme that offers upfront support to assist dealers in upgrading to brand new premises. Additionally, these dealers will enjoy extra margins on cars sold for up to three years.
  • In the past, our dealers enjoyed a 4% margin based on a monthly volume of 40 units agreed with PROTON to qualify for their sales incentives. We have now revised the scheme by lowering the threshold to encourage overall business growth for dealers. This scheme is in line with current challenges faced by dealers and PROTON will continue to monitor the situation to ensure business growth is achievable. In addition, PROTON also provides quarterly incentive scheme throughout the year, where dealers can earn extra income by exceeding their sales targets. PROTON also provides state incentive support for on-ground activities by dealers.
  • The industry practice in Malaysia is for automotive companies to demand cash before delivery or to provide dealers with up to 14 days of credit terms. Considering the competitive situation faced by its dealers, PROTON extends this period for up to 60 days with certain terms and conditions. This is a special effort offered by PROTON in order to help facilitate dealers to manage their cash flow as they strive to conclude sales. By doing so, dealers will have additional time to move their current stocks without worrying about their accounts being blocked.
  • The Payment After Registration (PAR) system is not practiced by other automotive companies in Malaysia. PROTON has decided to end the scheme in order to ease the Company’s tight financial situation. Currently, PROTON finances a total of RM650 million a year for its dealers. If we continue to practice PAR, the amount payable to PROTON by the dealers will grow resulting in a negative effect on our cash flow.
  • In order to promote sales to corporate fleet customers, PROTON extends special packages to interested corporate customers, associations, organizations and institutions, subject to certain terms and conditions. Dealers are encouraged to focus on retail sales as corporate fleet sales make up a very small share, which accounts for less than 5% in total Proton car sales in 2017.
  • With reference to the issue of unhealthy competition between dealers, we wish to reiterate that the new margin and incentive schemes referred to in item 2 above is also meant to prevent disorderly marketing amongst the dealers. PROTON is also guided by the laws and regulations of the country such as the Anti-Competition Act.
  • Upon the signing of the strategic partnership agreement, PROTON established a 10-year business plan focusing on key elements comprising products, operations and sales growth. Detailed studies have been carried out leading to a comprehensive product strategy for the introduction of new models over the next five years. Due to the infusion of advanced technology, expertise and capital of our partner, we are confident that PROTON is on the path towards a turnaround and sustainable growth.
  • The new SUV, which will be launched by end of the year, will be positioned as a technological landmark of PROTON. As it will be positioned as PROTON’s premium model, the sales and servicing experience will be carefully managed to exceed customer expectations. Therefore, PROTON’s 3S/4S outlets will manage the sales of the SUV exclusively. However, 1S outlets will still be allowed to sell the SUV via the 3S/4S outlet closest to their location. Ultimately all dealers will have the opportunity to sell new models as long as all requirements are met.

It is recognized that PROTON and its networks of dealers have come a long way. Therefore, PROTON reiterates its intention is to prosper instead of to burden the dealers. The journey is long-haul; it is a must for PROTON, dealers and business partners to first excite and serve the market the best we can.

In conclusion, PROTON hopes and aspires to grow the business with its dealers, creating confidence in the public and enhancing brand perception with renewed customer experience. Moving forward, the business model of PROTON must focus on market requirements that are sustainable in the long-term.” – Issued by Group Corporate Communications Division, PROTON

PROTON registered sales of 4,783 units in January 2018 with forecasted market share of 10.9%, an increase from the 8.8% market share in the previous month, despite registering lower sales from 4,802 units in December 2017. The Saga, Persona and Exora were the most popular models, making up 80% of total Proton car sales for January 2018.

“As the most affordable and value-for-money car in its segment, the Saga remains to be the most popular choice among Proton customers, making up 41% of overall Proton car sales. Naturally, the Saga has been enriching the lives of more than 1.7 million Malaysian families since its first production. It received numerous recognitions with the recent ones being, Value for Money Car Award in 2016 and Compact Sedan of the Year in 2017.” said Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, PROTON.

“The Saga we have now is the third generation Saga which has gone through a lot of improvement, enhancements and refinements. It has a quieter cabin due to the reduction of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) level, with a more stylish design, much more practical, durable and gives customers better value for the good safety features, convenient features and comfort level in the car. From as low as RM35,590.29, or RM390 per month (without insurance), it is affordable to most Malaysians,” Rashid added.

Showing much confidence in the brand, Proton recently held the second batch of its “Dealers Network Upgrade” agreement signing ceremony, at the PROTON Centre of Excellence. The ceremony witnessed the signing of another five dealers upgrading to 3S and 4S Centres. This follows the signing ceremony for the earlier batch which was held three weeks ago.

The agreements were signed between Dr Ho Tuck Sum (above, far left, below, right), Head of Sales and Network Planning, PROTON, with Dato’ Shamshudin Nor, Director of Pantai Bharu Corporation Sdn Bhd, Liew Vee Lee, Director of Harima Automobil (M) Sdn Bhd, Judith Yam Siew Chu, Managing Director of Atiara Johan (M) Sdn Bhd, Mohd Nazrin Bin Mohamad Fozi, Director of Rahman Brothers Automotive Sdn Bhd and Leong Chue Chye, Managing Director of Hoi Keen Services Sdn Bhd.

Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, Dr Li Chunrong and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed as well as senior management members of PROTON were present to grace the occasion.

There must be a reason why Malaysians are fascinated with the Tiger. The PROTON logo itself has the image of a roaring Tiger. Surely it represents boldness, courage and a spirit of survival. Just like us now at this point, taking it all in our stride, we will move ahead to ensure we continue to remain relevant and competitive in the automotive industry, by delivering to you top of the class products, quality and services” said Dr Li.

“Hence, it is only natural that our dealers have agreed to upgrade their premises to 3S and 4S, as they believe that treating customers well with the best possible sales and service experience is not an option – it is a must” he added.

According to Dato’ Shamshudin, “Proton has a very attractive dealer incentive programme, and believes that the Company is working out solid plans to ensure the changing of the facade of the building will give stronger brand presence which modern day customers can relate to when they walk in and consider looking for a car”.

“The current outlet area is packed with other dealer showrooms. However, our new dealer outlet is at the front of the road, which will showcase a bigger showroom and a bigger service area. The new area will give a feel good factor with ample parking space, so customers can come in anytime without having the hassle to look for car park,” he Dato’ Shamshudin.
