VIOS Challenge to Make International Debut at SUPER GT Malaysia Return in 2025

Malaysia’s premier saloon car racing series, the VIOS Challenge, is set to make a landmark appearance on the international stage during the return of the AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series to Malaysian soil after a 12-year absence. The event, to be held from 26 to 28 June 2025 at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, will see UMW Toyota Motor and Toyota GAZOO Racing Malaysia (TGR) take on the role of Title Sponsor.

Anticipation is high, with organisers expecting over 40,000 spectators and a worldwide audience exceeding 162 million viewers across broadcast and digital platforms. The return of SUPER GT to Malaysia marks a significant moment in the nation’s motorsport calendar, now enhanced by the inclusion of the VIOS Challenge as a feature race.

The VIOS Challenge, entering its eighth season, has been a mainstay of local grassroots racing and will adopt a revised one-hour endurance format for this international appearance, doubling its usual 30-minute sprint duration. The race will unfold on the full 5.543-kilometre Sepang circuit and is open to three classes of competitors: the Super Sporting category for professional racers, the Sporting class for amateurs, and the Rookie class comprising young drivers from Toyota’s developmental ranks.

Five rookies from the Toyota GAZOO Racing Young Talent Development Programme, launched in 2021, will represent the next generation of Malaysian racing prospects. Since its inception, the programme has produced 22 graduates, with over 10 active in local competitions and four already making their mark internationally with wins and championship titles.

Thrills Return to Sepang as Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Returns to Malaysia

The roar of high-performance engines echoed once more across the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit as Porsche Malaysia, under the stewardship of Sime Darby Auto Performance, welcomed the return of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) to Malaysian soil with Rounds 5, 6, and 7 of the 2025 season.

This year’s Malaysian leg marks a pivotal midpoint in the championship calendar and delivers a potent mix of speed and spectacle, featuring two days of blistering sprint races and the much-anticipated return of the endurance format. The series, now in its 22nd season, continues to stand as Asia’s premier one-make racing competition, renowned for its tight competition and pure racing ethos, where every driver competes in identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) machinery.

Sime Darby Auto Performance, representing Porsche in Malaysia, underscored the event’s significance by reaffirming its long-standing support for motorsport talent and culture. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Hunter, highlighted that the Carrera Cup Asia is not merely a competitive series but a celebration of motorsport’s enduring spirit, adding that the brand remains committed to nurturing both real-world and virtual racers throughout the region.

Motul 12 Jam Sepang: Dedikasi Terhadap Sukan Permotoran

Motul Asia Pasifik baru-baru ini menganjurkan acara perlumbaan mendebarkan yang dipanggil Motul 12 Jam Sepang di Litar Antarabangsa Sepang dari 15 hingga 16 Mac, 2023. Mereka lebih daripada sekadar Rakan Pelincir rasmi dan menjadi Penaja Tajuk untuk tahun kedua berturut-turut. Ini menunjukkan sokongan padu mereka terhadap komuniti kereta Malaysia dan kecintaan mereka terhadap sukan permotoran.

Acara itu menampilkan 17 pasukan dengan pemandu terbaik dari Asia bersaing dalam tiga kategori, menghadapi keadaan cuaca yang sukar di Asia. Penajaan Motul menyerlahkan semangat mereka untuk sukan permotoran dan sokongan mereka untuk peminat dan profesional kereta Malaysia.

Motul menganjurkan aktiviti khas untuk lebih 170 pelanggan penting, seperti lawatan ke pit dengan pasukan Viper Niza Racing yang berpangkalan di Malaysia dan pelajaran tentang membandingkan produk untuk trek dan jalan raya. R&B Racing Menjuarai dalam Motul 12 Jam Sepang 2024

R&B Racing sekali lagi menunjukkan kekuatan mereka dalam perlumbaan endurance dengan memenangi Motul 12 Hours 2024 Sepang. Pasukan China, yang terkenal dengan kemenangan mereka sebelum ini dalam Shanghai 8 Jam pada 2023, mempamerkan kemahiran dan keazaman yang mengagumkan.

Walaupun menghadapi cabaran awal yang menyebabkan mereka ketinggalan, pasukan R&B Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R #44, yang dianggotai oleh Yuan Bo, Lu Wei dan Ye Honghi, telah membuat kemunculan semula yang luar biasa dalam kelas GT3 Am. R&B Racing Triumphs in the 2024 Motul 12 Hours of Sepang

R&B Racing has once again asserted their dominance in endurance racing, emerging victorious in the 2024 Motul 12 Hours of Sepang. The Chinese team, known for their previous triumph in the inaugural Shanghai 8 Hours in 2023, showcased unparalleled skill and determination on the track.

Despite facing initial setbacks that saw them drop down the order, the #44 R&B Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R crew, comprising Yuan Bo, Lu Wei, and Ye Honghi, staged an impressive comeback in the GT3 Am class. Holding onto the lead for the remainder of the race, they not only secured the class victory but also clinched the overall win, solidifying their status as formidable contenders.

In the GT3 Am category, the #71 Prime Speed Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO II and the #777 Climax Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II secured second and third place, respectively, showcasing intense competition throughout the field.

Sepang Akan Naikkan Kadar Sewa Hingga 45% Mulai 1 April

Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) telah mengumumkan peningkatan besar dalam kadar sewa untuk Litar Antarabangsa Petronas Sepang, berkuat kuasa pada 1 April. Litar taraf FIA yang terkenal sebagai tuan rumah untuk acara seperti Grand Prix Petronas Malaysia akan menyaksikan peningkatan kadar sewa sehingga 45%, menekankan komitmen litar tersebut untuk mengekalkan standard tertinggi.

Seperti yang dilaporkan oleh NST, di bawah kad harga baru, sesi siang hari pada hari biasa akan mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 27%, meningkat dari RM55,000 kepada RM70,000. Kadar bagi sesi siang pada hujung minggu akan melihat kenaikan sebanyak 32%, bergerak dari RM60,500 kepada RM80,000. Sesi malam pada hari biasa akan mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 41%, dari RM55,000 kepada RM78,000, manakala sesi malam hujung minggu akan menghadapi peningkatan tertinggi sebanyak 45%, meningkat dari RM60,500 kepada RM88,000.

Kadar-kadar ini termasuk pegawai teknikal dan perubatan, perkhidmatan ambulans dan kereta bomba, pembersih, kakitangan keselamatan, dan akses kepada kemudahan yang berkaitan. CEO SIC, Azhan Shafriman Hanif, menekankan bahawa penyesuaian harga bertujuan untuk memastikan operasi berterusan litar pada standard tertinggi, menyokong penambahbaikan berterusan untuk pengalaman pelanggan yang lebih baik.

Keputusan untuk menaikkan kadar sewa ini dibuat setelah pertimbangan teliti terhadap peningkatan kos operasi dan penyelenggaraan. SIC menekankan komitmennya untuk memudahkan peralihan yang lancar bagi pelanggan dan pemegang saham, memberikan notis awal untuk kejelasan dan persediaan. Penyesuaian ini merupakan kenaikan harga sewa pertama sejak 2013, mencerminkan dedikasi litar tersebut untuk mengekalkan kemudahan dan perkhidmatan berkualiti dalam persekitaran perlumbaan yang sangat kompetitif.

Toyota GR Malaysia Sets Sights on Defending Title at 2023 Sepang Endurance Race

Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia is gearing up for the 2023 Sepang 1000 KM Endurance Race (S1K) with a focus on defending the overall title they secured the previous year. The team plans to enter a Toyota Vios in the MTC Class, with drivers Tengku Djan Ley Tengku Mahaleel and Naquib Azlan returning to the competition. Additionally, dealer team Wing Hin Motorsports will participate with two Toyota Yaris cars in the MTC Class, driven by Boy Wong and former Gazoo Racing Rookie Class driver Amer Harris.

The S1K event will also feature the third edition of the Gazoo Racing (GR) Vios Enduro Cup within the SP2 Class. This cup has gained popularity as a season finale for drivers already engaged in the GR Vios Challenge and GR Vios Sprint Cup. The GR Vios Enduro Cup attracts a diverse range of drivers, including teenagers, a father and son duo, a husband and wife team, and several female drivers.

Toyota GR Malaysia Kembali Ke S1K; Menyambut Tahun Ketiga Piala Gazoo Racing Vios Enduro

Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia bersedia untuk menyertai Perlumbaan ‘Endurance’ Sepang 1000 KM (S1K) 2023, dengan matlamat mempertahankan gelaran keseluruhan yang mereka menangi pada tahun sebelumnya.

Pasukan ini akan menggunakan sebuah Toyota Vios dalam Kelas MTC, dengan Tengku Djan Ley Tengku Mahaleel dan Naquib Azlan kembali sebagai pemandu. Selain itu, dua kereta Toyota Yaris akan dimasukkan oleh pasukan peniaga Wing Hin Motorsports dalam Kelas MTC, yang akan dipandu oleh Boy Wong dan bekas pemandu Gazoo Racing Rookie Class, Amer Harris.

BIKES: Ultimate Ducati Experience For Owners @ MotoGP 2018!

Ducati owners and Ducati Malaysia invited guests were given the “Ultimate Ducati Experience” of a lifetime at the Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Pix (Sepang GP) 2018 with a full line-up of exciting activities including a Meet and Greet session with the Ducati Corse team.

Invited guests and lucky Grandstand winners of the Ducati Ride and Win contest were star struck, grinning from ear to ear as they shook the hands of their idols; world class racers Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo during the Ducati Meet and Greet Session at the Ducati booth. Proudly donning the Ducati race suits, both Dovizioso and Lorenzo gave out their autographs and sincerely thanked their loyal fans for their support, and promised to do their best to achieve the best results possible for the final race.

Winners of the Desmo Race 2018, which was held earlier this year in July were also present at the exclusive Meet & Greet session and were given the opportunity to pose for a group photo with the Ducati Corse Team. The Desmo Race 2018 was hosted by the Desmo Owners Club Malaysia (DOCM), opened to all owners of the Ducati 848, Panigale 899 and 959, the 1098, 1198, Panigale 1199, 1299 and Panigale V4 to fully exploit the potential of their bike and for a taste of the adrenaline rush that comes with it.

Additionally, Ducati owners, business partners, Ducati Ride and Win winners and invited guests were given special rebates on Ducati apparel and merchandise at the Ducati Booth to complete the full Ducati experience at the MotoGP 2018. Earlier in October, Ducati Malaysia held the Ducati Ride and Win contest to give away free MotoGP 2018 Grandstand and Hillstand tickets.

The Ducati team has previously won five times at the Sepang International Circuit. Currently, Dovizioso and Lorenzo are both ranked at second (210 points) and ninth place (130 points) overall, with just two rounds remaining. The final 20-lap race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
