Ford Ranger Stormtrak Makes Debut In Thailand

Sitting right above the Wildtrak but below the Raptor, the 2023 Ford Ranger Stormtrak was unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) and it looks magnificent.

With Toyota releasing the Hilux GR Sport a few weeks ago, Ford seems to have joined in on the hype by releasing a Ranger on steroids too. This beast runs on the same powerplant as the Wildtrak – a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine paired to a 10-speed e-Shifter automatic gearbox which kicks out a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a peak torque of 500 Nm.

It sits on 20-inch wheels featuring a new design that has red highlights which are wrapped and snuggled by 255/55/20 tyres.

The front is pretty much the iconic Ranger look that features a distinctive black grille which houses auxiliary lights. The rear sides have additional black decals to compliment the aggressive look that the Ranger has. This comes with a flexible rack system offering a convenient adjustment of the sports bar in five ways with one hand which is pretty convenient if there is only one person to load and unload items stored on the rack.

Besides the exterior, there are a few changes in the interior that is quite eye-catching. Additional red trimmings are beautifully incorporated to compliment the leather seats which also comes with the words “Stormtrak” embroidered in it and is also seen in the leather dash topper which gives it a bold look and makes you feel like a boss when driving it around.

This Stormtrak comes with a 12.4-inch instrument cluster, 12-inch infotainment unit, dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, electric parking brake, and Active Park Assist system which should help owners squeeze this monster into tight parking spaces.

For the time being, the Stormtrak will be available in the Thai market with two different variants which are:

  • Stormtrak 4×2: THB 1.264 million (RM 165k)
  • Stormtrak 4×4: THB 1.399 million (RM 183k)

Fuelled by cigarettes, coffee and 90's rock music
