Chery Perkenal Tiggo 8 Baharu untuk Pasaran China

Chery telah mendedahkan gambar rasmi pertama bagi Tiggo 8 serba baharu, sebuah SUV mid-size yang direka khusus untuk kegunaan keluarga. Versi terbaharu ini tampil dengan saiz lebih besar, rekaan lebih moden serta konfigurasi lima tempat duduk. Pelancarannya dijadualkan berlangsung pada penghujung tahun ini.

Tiggo 8 merupakan antara model utama Chery di pasaran China, di mana ia ditawarkan dalam beberapa varian berbeza. Popularitinya juga terbukti apabila hampir 16,000 unit berjaya dijual pada bulan Ogos sahaja.

Bagi model baharu ini, pelanggan boleh memilih antara dua rekaan hadapan. Pilihan pertama menampilkan lampu utama berlapis bersama gril berbentuk X yang lebar, manakala pilihan kedua hadir dengan lampu utama bersepadu tunggal dipadankan dengan gril bercorak berlian yang lebih garang.

Di bahagian belakang, Tiggo 8 kini menggunakan jalur lampu LED penuh menggantikan lampu berasingan, disertai dengan logo “Chery” baharu serta dwi paip ekzos yang memberikan gaya lebih sporty.

Chery Teases All-New Tiggo 8 SUV Ahead of Q4 Launch in China

Chery has pulled the covers off the official images of its all-new Tiggo 8, a mid-size SUV aimed squarely at family buyers. Bigger and more refined than the current Tiggo 8, the new model adopts a fresh design language, offers a five-seat layout, and is set for its official debut in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Tiggo 8 nameplate has been a core part of Chery’s line-up, and the family already includes five different variants in China – the Tiggo 8 Plus, Tiggo 8L, Tiggo 8 Zhuoyue Edition (Excellence), the 2025 Tiggo 8 Pro, and the Tiggo 8 Plus CD-M. Demand for the SUV remains strong, with Chery shifting 15,695 units in August alone.

For the upcoming model, buyers will get the choice of two distinct front-end styles. One mirrors the Tiggo 8 Plus, pairing split headlamps with a polygonal X-matrix grille.

Chery O5 Dilancarkan Secara Rasmi di Malaysia – RM116,800

Chery secara rasmi memperkenalkan model O5 ke pasaran Malaysia, iaitu versi baharu daripada Omoda 5 facelift, dengan harga permulaan RM116,800.

Dari segi rekaan, O5 tampil lebih garang dengan rim aloi 18 inci serba baharu yang memberikan gaya sporty serta posisi lebih mantap di jalan raya.

Di bahagian bawah, Chery turut menaik taraf sistem suspensi belakang kepada jenis multi-link, menjanjikan keselesaan pemanduan yang lebih baik – sesuatu yang sangat dihargai untuk keadaan jalan di Malaysia.

Menjana kuasa untuk O5 ialah enjin 1.5 liter pengecas turbo dipadankan dengan transmisi klac berkembar 6-kelajuan (DCT). Enjin ini menghasilkan kira-kira 156hp dan 230Nm tork, memberikan keseimbangan antara prestasi dan kebolehan pemanduan harian.

Masuk ke ruang dalaman, O5 menampilkan kabin bergaya moden dengan sentuhan praktikal. Kemasan kulit sintetik disediakan sebagai standard, bersama kerusi hadapan berpengudaraan untuk keselesaan tambahan dalam cuaca panas.

Chery has officially introduced the O5 to the Malaysian market, a rebranded version of the Omoda 5 facelift, with prices starting from RM116,800.

The O5 comes in with a sharper look, courtesy of newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels that give the SUV a sportier stance and a pixel diamond grille.

Underneath, Chery has swapped in a multi-link rear suspension, promising improved ride quality and better comfort – something that will be welcomed on Malaysia’s often challenging roads.

Powering the O5 is a familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that produces 156PS and 230Nm of torque. This is paired with a new 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The combination is designed to deliver the right mix of performance and everyday usability, ensuring the SUV drives as confidently as it looks.

Inside, the O5 aims to impress with a cabin that blends style and convenience. Faux leather upholstery is standard, with ventilated front seats to keep things cool in the heat.

Taking centre stage is a massive 20.5-inch integrated dual-screen display, offering seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The 442L boot capacity ensures you have plenty of room for all your belongings.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is a b-segment SUV that has defied expectations.

Even though it counts the Perodua Ativa and Honda WRV as direct competitors, it offers features that can put more expensive cars to shame.

Priced at RM88,800 for the Turbo variant and RM99,800 for the Hybrid, the Tiggo Cross offers a well-built interior and driving dynamics that just about anyone can appreciate.

The Tiggo Cross Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, inline-four cylinder aluminium engine making 147PS and 210Nm of torque.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a smooth shifting six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Hybrid on the other hand is powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated, inline-four engine that makes 102PS and 125Nm of torque by itself.

However, it also features two electric motors – one to drive the wheels and another to power the driving motor as well as to charge the 1.8kWh battery. Combined, the powertrain makes 204PS and 310Nm of torque.

Though Chery says the Hybrid has an electronic CVT, the truth is power is sent directly to the wheels and there is no transmission in the traditional sense.

Review: Chery Tiggo Cross – Small In Size, Big On Value!

If you don’t understand the automotive segments, don’t fret, it took me a while too. I have been reviewing cars and motorcycles for the better half of 20 years and sometimes I still get it wrong.

So just as a quick refresher, the A-segment generally refers to small cars such as the Perodua Axia. After that is the B-segment which are for sub-compact cars such as the Honda City and Toyota Vios.

Then there is the C-segment with more spacious interiors, better-equipped interiors and include cars like the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and the Mazda 3.

The D-segment are for larger sedans such as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Past that is the E-segment for luxury sedans and of course it goes up to the F-segment.

But these days it is not as straightforward as it seems. You have the SUVs that are also defined by their segments and crossovers just muddy everything.

And then there are cars like the Chery Tiggo Cross, which sit in between segments because of its size and specifications. It is technically a B-segment SUV, but some argue that it could even nudge into the C-segment thanks to its features and generous size.

It’s not difficult to understand why some may say that because it really does have a list of features that more expensive cars struggle to match.

But let’s follow the rules and position it as a B-segment SUV, and it has its work cut out for it as the segment includes such heavyweights as the Perodua Ativa, Honda WR-V, Honda HR-V, and the new Proton X50.

We recently drove it to Terengganu and back.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is available in two variants – the Turbo and the Hybrid. And we drove both of them. We drove the Turbo to Tanjung Jara in Terengganu, and the Hybrid back to KL. The distance good enough to properly have a feel for what the Tiggo Cross has to offer.

For some context, the Tiggo Cross Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged aluminium engine producing 147PS and 210Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Chery Becomes First Chinese Carmaker to Break 5 Million Exports, OMODA | JAECOO Leads the Charge

Chery International Group has set a new benchmark in the global automotive industry by becoming the first Chinese car manufacturer to export over five million vehicles. This achievement cements the company’s position as China’s top passenger car exporter for an unprecedented 22 consecutive years.

July 2025 proved to be a defining month for the brand. Chery secured a “Double 500” milestone, recording the fastest climb among automakers on both the Fortune Global 500 and Fortune China 500 lists for the second year running. Globally, the Group leapt from 385th in 2024 to 233rd place, while its domestic ranking surged from 100th to 59th.

Much of this momentum can be traced to the rapid ascent of OMODA | JAECOO, which has carved out a reputation for attainable luxury, refined design, and innovation that challenges established segments.
