Supercar makers love one-off builds and unique models, whether it be Bugatti, Ferrari or Porsche, there are plenty of these “art pieces” around. Lamborghini too has released quite a number of unique builds and the Italian powerhouse recently presented the “Opera Unica” Huracán Sterrato; influenced by the vivid blues of Sardinia’s seas and skies. A unique crystal-effect paint was used to create this one-off work of art.

In addition to commemorating Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary, the one-of-a-kind Huracán Sterrato also highlights the company’s extraordinary skill in developing distinctive colours and paint techniques over decades.

Featured in many ’00s rap music videos and was even seen in the latest Fast X movie as a chrome-plated eye-catcher, the Lamborghini Gallardo celebrates 20 years of being an iconic model.

The Gallardo was originally referred to as a “baby Lambo” at the 73rd Geneva International Motor Show, where it was presented as a production ready model. It was the Italian manufacturer’s attempt to solve the supercar conundrum by creating a model that was less expensive than the Murcielago but just as attractive.

Lamborghini had previously recognised demand for a “smaller” Lamborghini and, more importantly, one with reduced starting prices and operating expenses. Lamborghini began work on the L140 project in 1987 with the explicit goal of building a smaller Lamborghini. Over the years, a number of prototypes were created and many technological options were looked into, including a V8 engine initially and a V10 engine afterwards.

Lamborghini and Audi have been in bed under the Volkswagen Group for what seems like eons now. And part of the benefits of that relationship is spreading out costs for model development because investing a lot of money in a niche product entails taking a lot of financial risks.

The first and second-generation R8 models shared the same underpinnings with the Gallardo and Huracan. But Ingolstadt has now made it clear that there won’t be a third, while Sant’Agata has declared that a brand-new baby Lambo will make its debut in 2024.

After many successful years, the Huracan replacement will be an all-Lamborghini endeavor, according to Asia-Pacific area director Francesco Scardaoni. So where did all that money needed for an all-new model development come from? The success of the Urus of course. The Urus is to Lamborghini what the Cayenne is to Porsche, both are savior models.

We never thought the day would come when the two words “Lamborghini” and “Electric Car” would be said in the same sentence but here we are.

When somebody says “Lamborghini”, the first thing that comes to mind is the roaring sound of the V12 from either the Aventador or the best Lamborghini ever made (for us at least), the Murciélago.

Lamborghini has apparently combined thunder and lightning for its first HPEV (High-Performance Electrified Vehicle) hybrid super sports car, the Revuelto.

The word “Revuelto”, translated to English means “scrambled” or “mixed-up” and was actually a fighting bull, a celebrity in the arenas of Barcelona in the 1880s.

Lamborghini has always added something extra to its model descriptions – like Super Sportscar and Super SUV – to emphasis their superlative qualities. And now, even with its new electrified model, it is using not just hybrid electric vehicle but High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) to describe the hybrid super sportscar codenamed LB744.

The new model will have its global debut soon and it is an appropriate year to do so as the carmaker celebrates its 60th anniversary. With the LB744, Lamborghini says it will establish a new benchmark in terms of performance and driving pleasure. Besides all-new architecture, the LB744 also has a new powertrain which will produce over 1,000 ps in total.
