Following the successful debut of the new Cayenne in early 2023, Porsche is culminating the extensively revamped third generation of this renowned SUV with an exciting addition: a fresh flagship model. In line with tradition, the most potent iteration of the Cayenne continues to be a plug-in hybrid. Porsche has undertaken substantial enhancements in the technology of this successor to the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, resulting in noteworthy improvements, particularly in electric range and performance.

Distinguishing itself, the Turbo E-Hybrid boasts a distinctive front fascia, characterised by its enlarged air intakes that exude a sporty and aggressive aesthetic. Porsche’s attention to detail extends to the wheel arches and the lower rear fascia, both of which are elegantly painted in the vehicle’s body colour. Further enhancing its dynamic appearance, the E-Hybrid model showcases vibrant red brake callipers that add a dash of flair. The visual enhancements are rounded off with the inclusion of two dual exhaust outlets, a design element that not only exudes sophistication but also contributes to the SUV’s overall sporty presence.

Taking a page out of the playbook of the all-electric Taycan sedan, the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid introduces an impressive 12.7-inch gauge cluster. This includes a toggle-style gear selector that draws clear inspiration from its electric counterpart. Meanwhile, the heart of the cabin’s entertainment and navigation functions lies within a central 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Notably, Porsche retains its digital display aesthetic, while wisely incorporating a physical volume knob—an element appreciated by many.

Want to get as close as you can to driving a Porsche? Well, Porsche offers a modified 911 GT3 Cup steering wheel that can be attached to various setups and seamlessly connect to your computer for complete functionality. This exclusive accessory is priced at $10,475 (RM48,720) before taxes and shipping.

Limited to a mere 150 units, the GT3 Cup wheel is meticulously crafted from ultra-light and exceptionally rigid carbon fiber. It doesn’t imitate the real wheel—it is, in fact, the authentic wheel, only minimally adapted for gaming purposes. Featuring the real Cup rim’s six-hole, 70mm pitch circle diameter (PCD) spacer, it can be seamlessly mounted to virtually any hub from different simulation wheel base manufacturers.

The wheel also maintains the exact magnetic shifter paddle module and carbon shifter paddles found in the actual Cup car. While the Cup car employs a wireless hub, the sim version connects to a PC via a USB cable, with illuminated buttons for enhanced visibility.

If you’re one of those hardcore gamers and think you can make it to the big leagues just like Jann Mardenborough from Gran Turismo, head on over to the Porsche shop to get your RM48k sim racing wheel.

Porsche Malaysia introduces the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS: a true masterpiece of automotive engineering. With a sleek design, advanced racing technology, and unparalleled power, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a dominant force on the road and the track that joins the 911 lineup here in Malaysia.

The 2022 launch of the GT3 RS brought forth a marvel where the aerodynamics of this 911 street car surpasses even those of the GT3 R race car.

What’s more interesting is that at the heart of the substantial performance enhancement lies the innovative concept of a central radiator – a concept initially introduced in the Le Mans class-winning 911 RSR and later adopted by the 911 GT3 R. Departing from the conventional three-radiator setup of its predecessors, the latest 911 GT3 RS implements a sizeable, angled centre radiator situated in the front of the vehicle, occupying the space typically designated for luggage in other 911 models. This ingenious modification has not only liberated side space but has also facilitated the integration of dynamic aerodynamic components.

Aerodynamics

Speaking of aerodynamics, the new 911 GT3 RS showcases numerous functional aerodynamic components in its design. A notable highlight is the swan-neck-mounted rear wing, larger than before, consisting of a fixed main part and an adjustable upper element. Notably, the wing’s upper edge surpasses the car’s roof height for the first time in Porsche’s production vehicles. The car’s front no longer includes a traditional front spoiler, replaced by a dividing front splitter that manages airflow over and under the vehicle. Sideblades efficiently direct air outward, while front wheel arches are ventilated through louvered openings in the front wings.

In time for the brand’s sixth appearance at the Quail event, Gunther Werks, specialists in Porsche recreations, recently unveiled their most current rendition of the 993 platform. This new turbocharged behemoth, known as the Touring Turbo Edition, which has vintage design cues as a testament to the final chapter of the air-cooled period.

In contrast to the prominent wing, the Touring variant features a subtle ducktail rear spoiler, drawing inspiration from the 1972 Carrera 2.7 RS. The intention is to achieve a more refined and elegant appearance rather than an aggressive one. This concept aligns with Porsche’s approach to their Touring models.

Porsche has created a sports car dedicated to purists to commemorate the special anniversary of the classic 911 sports car: The 911 S/T.

The moniker distinguishes the new 911 S/T as the offspring of a first-generation 911 model that was especially performance-focused. Porsche began offering a unique race-specific 911 S in 1969. These vehicles were referred to as 911 ST internally. Acceleration, braking, traction, and cornering grip were all greatly enhanced by changes to the chassis, wheels, engine, and body. These versions did not yet make use of large spoilers or other aerodynamic aids.

Porsche has developed a contemporary take of the 356 No. 1 open-top Roadster to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the company’s first vehicle.

The new Vision 357 Speedster is a roofless evolution of the Vision 357 Concept shown at the start of the year.

The coupe was based on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, while the speedster was inspired by the 718 GT4 e-Performance. It borrows the 718 GT4 Clubsport’s chassis and blends it with the Mission R concept’s electric motors and battery technology. The one-off boldly displays “75” badges as a homage to the original 356 and has a one-sided tonneau cover.

Apple CarPlay is arguably one of the best device-to-car applications introduced in the history of the automobile. It offers seamless connectivity between an Apple device and a car, but one of the major drawbacks is that CarPlay does not integrate vehicle settings, which means that a user will have to backtrack to the main menu to change vehicle settings, which can be annoying and distracting.

But Porsche seems to have figured it out, and claims to be the first manufacturer to do so.

The Porsche companion app, which is available on the App Store and lets users access a car’s status and get real time data such as travel range, tyre pressure, trip data, close status of the windows and doors, among others. It also allows users to remotely turn on the air-conditioning, and even supports remote parking.

The app has obviously been useful but it has now been upgraded to make it simpler for drivers to control numerous car functions from within the CarPlay interface. A supposed first for any car maker.

The My Porsche app, which was updated on Monday, gives users access to several aspects of the car, including the battery’s level of charge, destinations for the navigation system, and air conditioning settings. These features have been added to CarPlay in an update to the app.

Drivers can now view images of their exact car model within CarPlay, as well as sound profiles, radio station controls, climate management, and ambient lighting, according to the upgrade. The various settings can be configured inside wellness modes like “relax” or “warm up,” and can be called up using Siri, using quick actions in CarPlay.

In celebration of the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche France unveiled a unique edition of the current 911. The model borrows aesthetic cues from Le Mans and is based on the 911 Carrera GTS.

The vintage 356 SL, which won a class at Le Mans in 1951, and the exotic 911 GT1, which won the race overall with two French drivers at the wheel in 1998, both inspired the design of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition.

Grant Larsson, the Director of Special Projects in the Porsche Style division and the person responsible for the original Boxster designed the special edition. 25 unique components were produced as a result of the project, which began in 2020.
